7 facts about the Transparency Rating in Spain

There are examples of ratings and transparency studies in many countries around the world. In Spain, they measure not only the transparency of municipalities, but also the transparency of football clubs. How does this happen? We share with you the most interesting facts about  Spanish transparency.

Transparency International Espa?a has been measuring the openness of local authorities at all levels for more than 10 years - //bit.ly/spain-ranking

2. The municipal transparency index ranks the 110 largest Spanish cities by 80 indicators.

3. The city showed the highest results in the areas of economic and financial transparency and accessibility of information about the municipality.

4. From the beginning of the assessment, the average level of transparency improves with each study. In 2008 – 52.1 points, in 2017 – increased to 89.7 points in 2017! Therefore, self-government becomes more open to the public.

5. There is a separate index of transparency of parliaments – and there are many of them in Spain, as well as autonomous districts. In the ranking, you can find not only the parliaments of cities, but also check the openness of the Senate and Congress of deputies of Spain.

6. The latest study showed that the Basque country - the autonomy in the North of the country - is the most transparent.

7. Spain is a well-known country of football fans. Therefore, it is not surprising that TI Spain even developed ratings such as the Transparency Index of Football Clubs and the Transparency Index of Sports Federations.
