Online meeting with representatives of the Sumy City Council

The team of the "Transparent cities" program aims to improve the performance of all Ukrainian cities and strengthen local self-governance in times of war. After the presentation of the results, a series of meetings with Ukrainian municipalities began to analyze the situation in each city individually, discuss recommendations, and plan implementation efforts.

On May 16th, an online meeting will be held with representatives of the Sumy City Council.

According to the results of the Transparency Research of Ukrainian cities during the war, Sumy falls into the category of "non-transparent" cities. During the meeting, experts will provide recommendations for enhancing transparency in the activities of the local government and analyze the city's indicators for the year 2022.

It is worth noting that in April, the "Transparent cities" program did not release the traditional Transparency Ratings but evaluated the transparency of city councils' work during the war in an adapted research.

Our analysts examined 70 mainly rear-based cities in Ukraine across 40 indicators. The average performance score in these cities stands at 37.5%. The indicators that align with legislative requirements are fulfilled at a rate of 47.8%.
